La Reserva Golf

La Reserva Golf Club in Sotogrande has become, despite its tender years, one of the most prestigious courses in Spain. La Reserva continues to improve by leaps and bounds, and its 18 holes, designed by Cabell Robinson, are complemented by the lively social life of its magnificent Club House. La Reserva Golf Club has become a meeting point for members, friends and golf fans with a strong reputation, continually providing more and better services to its members.

The La Reserva de Sotogrande golf course opened in 2003 and was designed by the prestigious architect North American golf course designer Cabell B. Robinson. The 6,721-metre 18-hole par 72 course is a fantastic challenge for any golfer – both professionals and amateurs – thanks to its numerous tee options and imposing, fast greens that allow for a wide variety of pin positions.

When Golf de la Luz visited La Reserva recently we found the golf course to be of the highest standard and a great inclusion in the fantastic value Spain’s Finest package, plus the services of the clubhouse and their attentive staff were a wonderful way to wind down after a golfing journey around this excellent golf course.

The 2 loops of 9 holes are markedly different with the front nine being more open and approachable than the tighter, tree lined back nine which places a great emphasis in putting your ball in the right place off the tee and following that up with accurate iron-play into the slick greens. Both loops of 9 holes travel high and low through the undulating landscape and it is these undulations that explain why buggies are recommended for the best enjoyment of your round here at La Reserva!

Unquestionably a spectacular experience nestled on a unique estate that enables golfers to enjoy some magnificent views of the mountains and down to the sea. These surroundings are accompanied by a no less majestic clubhouse where both members and visitors can enjoy an array of comforts, excellent service and an attractive menu in a setting that inspires tranquillity.

La Reserva’s Club House was founded in 2004 as an authentic country house, with facilities to suit members and non-members alike. It has five multifunctional rooms with an English bar, two dining rooms, a bar, a meeting room, a TV room, a fitness centre, a large terrace overlooking the golf course for non-members, and two terraces, also with views, for members. The decor of the Club House is one of its best features. The central entrance courtyard has touches of Arabian style and of the five multifunctional rooms, two have fireplaces, giving them a rustic yet refined air. Also, there are two separate locker rooms: one for members and one for non-members. The first is large and spacious and offers services such as a Turkish bath and attentive customer care.

With the other 5 courses of the Sotogrande Estate adjacent to La Reserva, plus the other local courses such as San Roque and Alcaidesa in easy striking distance it is no wonder that Sotogrande and this area of Cadiz province is considered to be one of Europe’s best golfing destinations!
